Latvian Post reports that it may consider reducing newspaper delivery days to just five a week to combat a fall in subscibers and a worsening economic crisis.

Latvian Post said that the present six day delivery service is proving expensive. It noted that it was already in the process of cost-saving measures for mail delivery but is now asking publishers whether or not a five-day newspaper service is necessary given subscribed press volume.

It said a decision had not so far been made but if approved would be submitted to ministerial advisors.
