Trekenner Post Office Outreach Proposal
11 February 2009 - POL Press Release - © Hellmail Postal News
Post Office Ltd yesterday launched a six-week consultation on the proposed outreach service to replace Trekenner Post Office in Lezant.
Post Office Ltd now proposes a home outreach service which would allow customers in the community, who register for the service, to order Post Office products and services to be delivered direct to their home or via a local drop in session at a set location and time. This replaces the original proposal which was for a mobile outreach service to serve Lezant.
The proposal follows the decision by Post Office Ltd to close the existing Trekenner branch and introduce an outreach service under its Cornwall area plan, which was concluded earlier this year. The public consultation into the new proposal begins today (February 10) and ends on 23 March 2009.
A range of products and services would continue to be available through the proposed home post office service. Customers could collect benefits in cash using our banking services or Post Office® card account.
Tim Nickolls, Network Development Manager for Cornwall said: "We welcome feedback from the local community during the six week consultation and look forward to receiving comments on the revised outreach service that is proposed."
Submissions can be made during the consultation by post to the National Consultation Team, Post Office Ltd, FREEPOST CONSULTATION TEAM (no stamp is required) or by email to consultation@postoffice.co.uk
