Pitney Bowes, the mail and messaging technology specialist, has announced a major £1 million investment in its service and support operation with the development of a state-of-the-art international showroom and training centre near Redhill, Surrey.

The new 20,000 square foot facility will showcase Pitney Bowes’ latest hardware and software solutions, integrated within a fully operational ADF (Automated Document Factory) setting and including the company’s unique end-to-end transpromo solutions.

The showroom will function as a fully-equipped training facility for Pitney Bowes’ team of European service experts as well as a demonstration site for customers throughout Europe to view the latest solutions and to test their own specific job applications.

Technology at the site will include the latest Pitney Bowes MPS ultra high-speed, high-integrity inserter, the entire range of newly launched Pitney Bowes DPS direct mail inserters and the latest Horizon and Spedo Graphic Arts equipment lines – now available directly from Pitney Bowes.

Also on show will be the latest software from Pitney Bowes Software, including printstream manipulation tools and location intelligence solutions.

Gareth Stoten, UK & Ireland General Manager, Pitney Bowes, comments: “This major investment clearly signals our intent and ambition within the print and mail arena.

“We are seeing significant demand for our solutions as they address the current need to drive down the cost per mail piece through productivity improvements and postal optimisation, and to retain and win new customers through more effective communication. This very much plays to our strengths and will be a key focus for the new facility.

“Above all, the new facility reflects our confidence in the future of print and mail and our commitment to ensuring that our dedicated service team remains the best in the business.”

Heather Fletcher, UK & Ireland Sales Director, Pitney Bowes, adds: “We have a huge number of referral sites where we can demonstrate our solutions running live applications. However, the additional ability to spend time in a showcase environment, and to be able to run the customers’ own data and material will generate increased buyer confidence and provide significant added value.”

The official opening is planned for the end of June 2009, with a full Open House launch in the Autumn for European customers.
