SwaziPost adopts Escher Group software

18 June 2012 - Hellmail Postal News

Escher, a world-leading provider of outsourced point-of-service software to the postal industry, has announced that SwaziPost, a division of Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation, has selected Escher’s proven Riposte counter automation software.

SwaziPost, the national postal operator in Swaziland, will begin to use Escher’s Riposte to modernize its postal network to offer new revenue generating products and services while at the same time reducing the existing cost base.

SwaziPost joins a growing list of postal operators on the African continent, notably Angola Post, Botswana Post, Cape Verde Post, Mauritius Post, NamPost, the South Africa Post Office and ZimPost, which have chosen Escher as their preferred supplier of counter automation technology and expertise. The SwaziPost contract also underpins Escher’s decision to open an African office as it will help drive Escher’s business in Africa while consolidating account management services with the company’s existing customers.

Liam Church, Escher’s CEO, commented: ‘this is a significant development for Escher Group in Africa and reaffirms our commitment to expand our customer base on the continent. Swazi Post is a progressive postal organization and Escher is looking forward to assisting the Post in its modernization strategy.’ He continued: ‘with the establishment of a regional office in southern Africa earlier in the year, and additional business with existing African customers, this new contract confirms that we are one of the leading players in the African postal market.’

Amon Dlamini, Acting Managing Director of Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation, added: ‘it is always our desire to work with world-leading technology providers that can provide value-added solutions to help SwaziPost to develop and enhance our services portfolio to the ever changing customer needs. I am very confident that this new relationship with Escher Group will ensure that the counter automation project is successfully delivered on time to SwaziPost.’
