Swiss Post Solutions Limited (SPS) has announced a five year contract renewal with UK Mail, the UK's largest independent parcels, mail and logistics services company, to provide multi-channel billing for its customers and franchised partners.

Under the contract SPS will continue to provide eBilling, print and online document management services to its customers and franchised offices, but SPS will also drive the uptake of electronic delivery by managing the transition of all credits, debits and claims from physical print and postal despatch to a digital delivery solution.

SPS will ensure that the current email penetration of 54% is increased. 69,300 invoices and statements are digitally delivered each month by SPS, whilst a further 63,000 documents are printed, enclosed and despatched each month from SPS' Document Processing Centre.

UK Mail was one of the first in its industry to recognise the potential for delivering invoices electronically as a valuable way of improving service levels to customers and franchised partners. Working with SPS since 2002, UK Mail has found a partner that can be trusted and relied on to provide the expert skills and innovative tools necessary todeliver a more efficient approach to billing.

SPS' dedicated online portal for UK Mail operates as a 'pull' solution enabling customers and partners to access their current and historic account data whenever they wish.They can use the secure website to check the status of their accounts and view or download their invoices, statements,credits and debits.

UK Mail customers and partners benefit through the ability to access billing data in formats that can be imported directly into their in-house systems, raise queries and obtain copy statements at the click of a button.

The portal provides UK Mail with greater visibility, and improved customer interaction, as well as significant cost savings. By removing the need for paper, printing, postage and the cost of labour in handling this work,UK Mail is adopting a sustainable, scalable and efficient solution for the distribution of billing documents to their customers and partners. Reduced paper generation means a reduction in physical archiving requirements too and the SPS solution includes an electronic archive service for the hosted storage of ‘digitally born’ documents.
