To stop Royal Mail delivering junk mail through your door, you need to request this via:

optout@royalmail.co.uk or call direct on 08457 950950. You can also write:

Wheatstone Road
Swindon
SN3 5JW

Please be aware that if you DO opt out, you will no longer receive unaddressed mail which includes information from the government, local councils etc. There are some things which you may like to know about including major road changes, a flyover thats being built ten feet from your bedroom window, changes to your local area etc. This information will stop if you do opt out although it is still a grey area as some government forms/info will still be delivered even if you have opted out.

There is also a web site founded by Robert Rijkhoff called 'Stop Junk Mail' which gives a complete run down on the issues surrounding junk mail as well as what you can do about it. You can find a link to it under 'Other Organisations' on our menu bar as well as other sources which may be of help.
